About the Role:

We are seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager who not only leads the accounting function but also actively contributes to daily operations. This is a role for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves while guiding a small team and improving processes.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger. Perform month-end and year-end close processes, journal entries, and account reconciliations. Prepare financial statements, reports, and analysis to support decision-making. Supervise and support accounting staff, providing training and direction. Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, policies, and internal controls. Partner with leadership to improve systems, processes, and reporting. Handle complex or high-priority accounting tasks directly ("working manager" approach).

Required Qualifications

Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Diploma in Accounting/Bookeeping. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or lead role. Strong technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail. Proficiency in accounting/ERP systems and Excel. Ability to balance hands-on accounting work with leadership responsibilities. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
