Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented, process-driven, and people-focused Accounting Manager to join our established IT Managed Services Provider. This leadership role ensures financial accuracy, team development, and operational alignment between Finance and the broader organization. The ideal candidate combines strong accounting expertise with excellent communication and team leadership skills.
The Accounting Manager will guide the accounting team, manage key financial operations, and collaborate closely with Finance and Operations to improve workflow efficiency. While this role supports critical financial cycles, it does not own month-end close-instead, it provides strong support to ensure accuracy, timely reporting, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management

  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, overseeing daily priorities across AP, AR, payroll, and commissions.
  • Lead daily team huddles to maintain alignment and drive accountability.
  • Establish and support quarterly SMART goals for team performance and development.
  • Enhance and document accounting workflows for improved efficiency and consistency.
Financial Operations & Compliance
  • Support month-end close activities by preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and documentation as required.
  • Support financial analysis associated with month-end reporting.
  • Manage cash flow, AR collections, banking activities, and vendor reconciliations.
  • Oversee invoicing review, uninvoiced order checks, and billing accuracy across departments.
  • Support payroll review, expense reporting oversight, and statutory filings including HST/EHT.
  • Support year-end financials and reporting requirements, working with external accountants and internal leadership.
Revenue, Agreements & Renewals Oversight
  • Maintain financial control over agreements, renewals, and related billing workflows.
  • Collaborate with Sales Support and Inside Sales to ensure quotes and renewals transition smoothly into accurate invoicing.
  • Review and approve pricing documentation (e.g., Schedule A) and ensure financial alignment.
  • Help drive automation and accuracy improvements within agreement and renewal processes.
Reporting & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Prepare accurate financial reports and operational summaries for leadership.
  • Provide insights to the VP Finance on cost structure, cash flow trends, and process improvements.
  • Work closely with Operations, Sales, and Leadership to maintain clear communication and minimize billing or financial discrepancies.
  • Assist with enhancement initiatives in QuickBooks, CW Manage, and related automation tools.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks; experience with CW Manage is an asset.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, implement process improvements, and communicate effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with Excel and financial software environments.
