We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Manager to oversee our financial operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the accounting team, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations.

Duties
Lead the preparation of
financial statements
and ensure their accuracy in accordance with
GAAP
and other regulatory standards.
Oversee
general ledger accounting
, including
journal entries
,
account reconciliation
, and
balance sheet reconciliation
.
Manage
accounts payable
and
accounts receivable
processes, ensuring timely processing and accuracy.
Conduct detailed
financial analysis
including
cash flow analysis
,
budgeting
, and forecasting to support organizational decision-making.
Ensure compliance with
SOX
,
LIHTC
, and other regulatory requirements, maintaining documentation for audits and internal controls.
Supervise the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, including
bank reconciliation
and audit preparation.
Oversee the use of various
financial software
such as
QuickBooks
,
Sage
,
Xero
, and other accounting tools to streamline operations.
Mentor and develop accounting staff, fostering a team environment focused on accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on financial projects involving
tax experience
,
securities law
, or specialized areas like
wills, trusts & estate law
when applicable.
Prepare detailed financial reports for management review, interpreting complex data to inform strategic planning.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
Extensive experience in
corporate accounting
, with knowledge of
public accounting
practices highly desirable.
Strong understanding of
GAAP
,
regulatory reporting
, and advanced knowledge of financial concepts such as
double entry bookkeeping
,
debits & credits
, and accrual accounting.
Proficiency with multiple accounting software platforms including but not limited to
QuickBooks
,
Sage
,
Xero
, and enterprise systems like PeopleSoft or similar ERP solutions.
Demonstrated expertise in managing complex financial tasks such as
balance sheet reconciliation
,
account analysis
, and financial statement interpretation.
Experience with internal controls related to SOX compliance, governmental or non-profit accounting preferred.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to perform detailed financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
Strong leadership skills with a history of mentoring teams in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of securities law, tax regulations, or private equity is a plus but not required.
