Accounting Manager

Job Description

Our client is a well- established professional services firm, currently seeking a results-focused and collaborative designated Accounting Manager to join their organization.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can ensure the success of their team within a fast-paced environment. This role is responsible for accurate and timely financial reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, overseeing key processes, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to maintain reporting integrity. Location: Vancouver, BC
Work Arrangement: Hybrid
Expected Salary Range: $105,000 - 113,000 per year, commensurate with experience and skillset
Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements and related reports, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
  • Manage external reporting requirements, including covenant compliance and quarterly submissions.
  • Review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation to ensure completeness and resolution prior to period close.
  • Identify and resolve complex accounting issues through research and analysis.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop team members, including performance management and recruitment activities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support operational and strategic objectives.
  • Provide recommendations on accounting practices, internal controls, and process improvements.
  • Maintain and optimize ERP and reporting systems to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support annual audit processes by liaising with external auditors and ensuring timely completion of deliverables.
  • Assist with budgeting activities and monitor performance against targets.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance reporting efficiency and automation.
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports and contribute to special projects as required.
Requirements:
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent) with 5+ years of progressive experience within industry; accounting firm experience is an asset.
  • Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards; familiarity with US GAAP and IFRS is beneficial.
  • Strong knowledge of managing internal controls, producing financial statements and regulatory reports.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize complex workloads under tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and compliance.
  • Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and commitment to continuous improvement.
