Summary

We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to take full responsibility for overseeing our company's day-to-day accounting operations, including tax filings, AR/AP management, and financial reporting. This role requires strong technical accounting skills, team leadership experience, and cross-functional coordination abilities. The successful candidate will help optimize financial processes, enhance reporting quality, and support senior management in strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

Oversee full-cycle accounting and ensure all financial data is accurate, standardized, and compliant with regulations Manage and supervise accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) processes Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (e.g., balance sheet, income statement) Handle all tax filings, including HST, payroll source deductions, T4, year-end filings, WSIB, etc. Manage day-to-day payments, expense reimbursements, bank reconciliations, and general ledger entries Train, guide, and support team members to build an efficient and accountable finance team Assist in annual budgeting, cost control strategies, and deliver timely financial analysis reports Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and tax authorities to support audits and ensure compliance Regularly report on financial health and provide insights to support business decisions Perform other finance-related duties as assigned by senior management

Requirements

Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Minimum 2 years of accounting experience in Canada, plus 2 years in a team leadership role Hands-on experience with full-cycle bookkeeping, AR/AP, and tax reporting Proficient in QuickBooks and Excel; experience with Oracle NetSuite is an asset Strong knowledge of CRA regulations, corporate income tax, and sales tax procedures Excellent English communication skills (both written and verbal) Cantonese or Mandarin language skills are a strong asset CPA designation or working toward CPA is preferred Strong sense of responsibility, attention to detail, and excellent time management and teamwork skills
