Key Responsibilities:
Mentor and develop staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
Execute engagements to the highest level of client service, including collaborating with client teams to discuss roles, responsibilities, risk areas, deadlines, and budgets
Review and ensure accuracy of working papers, financial statements, and tax compliance filings
Manage and oversee multiple client engagements ensuring timely and accurate completion
Understand client needs and act as a point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly
Provide strategic financial advice to clients and support their business growth.
Qualifications:
CPA designation required
Minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting, preferably with a small to medium-sized firm, with a focus on management.
Proficiency in Canadian Auditing Standards, Canadian Standards for Review Engagements, Canadian Standards for Compilation Engagements, and the Canadian Income Tax Act
Proven experience in performing and reviewing audit, review, compilation, and tax files
Strong knowledge of Canadian Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises and Canadian Accounting Standards for Not-for-Profit Organizations
Expertise in personal tax, corporate tax, and estate/trust tax
Proficiency in Caseware Working Papers, Experience with Sage 50 and Quickbooks
In-depth tax certification an asset
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong accuracy, and attention to detail
Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
Willingness to work extended hours during the personal tax season and as needed based on workload and deadlines
