Position Overview:



We are seeking an

Accounting Manager

to lead our accounting operations and ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of all financial reporting. This is a key leadership role within the finance team, responsible for managing the month-end and year-end closing, overseeing daily accounting activities, and supporting strategic decision-making through insightful financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities:



Month-End & Year-End Close:

Lead and manage the full cycle closing process, ensuring all journal entries, reconciliations (including intercompany), and financial adjustments are completed accurately and on schedule.

Financial Reporting:

Work closely with the Controller to prepare combined monthly financial statements, DSR calculations, and standalone statements for stakeholders.

Variance Analysis:

Investigate and reconcile variances, analyze results, and provide clear, actionable insights to management.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Partner with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting, efficient workflows, and strong operational support.

Compliance & Filings:

Review and file sales tax (GST/HST) returns and other required government submissions in a timely manner.

Fixed Assets Management:

Maintain and reconcile fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, and related reporting.

Audit & Year-End Preparation:

Assist in preparing year-end working papers and supporting documentation for auditors.

Daily Operations:

Monitor and oversee daily accounting transactions to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to company policies.

Leadership & Mentorship:

Supervise, train, and mentor accounting staff, reviewing their work for accuracy, completeness, and professional development.

Special Projects:

Support the Controller and CFO with ad-hoc projects, process improvements, and system enhancements.

Required Knowledge and Experience:



CPA designation preferred. Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or supervisory roles. Strong knowledge of GAAP and experience with consolidations, intercompany transactions, and financial reporting. Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar ERP systems) and advanced Excel skills. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail. Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
