We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to oversee the full scope of our financial operations. In this role, you will ensure accuracy and compliance across all accounting activities, provide leadership and support to the team, and maintain consistent workflow within the department. Responsibilities include managing invoicing, payments, payroll, and government remittances, preparing financial reports, and driving process improvements and automation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Oversight
Supervise and mentor finance team; provide guidance, training, and performance feedback.
Review all outputs from for accuracy and compliance before release.
Ensure continuous workflow and timely completion of tasks across the accounting department.
Foster a collaborative, supportive environment that encourages growth and accountability.
Financial Oversight & Compliance
Review AR invoices before they are sent to clients; confirm accuracy and adherence to contracts and tax rules.
Oversee AP payments for accuracy and timeliness; resolve vendor issues promptly.
Monitor government remittances (taxes, statutory deductions) for compliance and timely submission.
Maintain adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.
Payroll & Compensation Review
Review payroll for accuracy and compliance with tax regulations.
Audit payroll transactions and GL postings; reconcile variances and correct errors at source.
Collaborate with HR to ensure payroll adjustments and employee records are current.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Analyze financial data to provide insights for cost control and strategic decisions.
Present financial results and recommendations to senior management.
Process Improvement & Automation
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Work with cross-functional teams to automate and streamline accounting workflows.
Optimize accounting systems for reporting and compliance.
Year-End Coordination
Act as the primary liaison with the external accountant during year-end close.
Prepare and provide all required schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
Ensure timely completion of year-end adjustments and financial statements.
Address auditor queries and facilitate smooth communication between internal team and external accountant.
General Accounting
Assist with audits, reconciliations, and financial planning.
Take on additional responsibilities typically assigned to an Accounting Manager as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field;
Experience: Minimum 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of accounting software (Quickbooks Online), and reporting tools.
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and ability to identify discrepancies.
Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze financial issues and develop effective solutions.
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present financial data clearly.
