What will your primary responsibilities look like?
Oversee the full financial accounting cycle;
Lead and manage a team of accounting personnel (supervising, coaching, setting personal and team objectives, performing performance evaluations, etc.);
Supervise and actively participate in month-end closing activities;
Review and approve account reconciliations and month-end reports;
Review intercompany month-end balances and reconcile discrepancies;
Perform financial analyses of both individual and consolidated financial statements;
Prepare financial reports and ad hoc analyses for senior management;
Ensure that internal controls are carried out in compliance with Regulation 52-109;
Support tax compliance for Canadian and U.S entities;
Actively participate in the annual audit process;
Prepare cash flow forecasts and ensure sufficient funding is available to meet operational needs;
Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs);
Conduct research on accounting standards and prepare accounting memoranda;
Contribute to special projects (acquisitions, performance monitoring, process automation);
Oversee accounting systems and manage configuration updates.
What elements of your professional background will be necessary and valuable in this role?
Bachelor's degree in Administration or Accounting;
CPA accounting designation required;
At least 8 years of experience as a Professional Accountant;
At least 2 years of relevant experience in personnel management.
Excellent mastery of accounting principles;
Nice to have - Knowledge of IFRS standards
