We are seeking an Accounting Manager who combines strong technical accounting expertise with the ability to collaborate and adapt in an evolving organization that's building greater structure and process discipline. This role is ideal for a CPA who brings strong technical accounting expertise and sound operational judgment. Reporting to the Director, Finance, this role ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance, and process discipline across the organization.



The Accounting Manager plays a key role in enabling the business, providing operations and sales teams with financial insight, data accuracy, and reporting tools they need to effectively sell our products, manage margins, and strengthen our brand.



This is a hands-on opportunity for a finance professional who can work collaboratively across departments, guide a small Finance team, and help build the structure and systems that will support Formations' continued growth.

What You'll Be Doing:




Assist in the preparation of the annual financial reporting plan by outlining reporting schedules, compliance requirements, and key financial metrics. Oversee the day-to-day financial operations of Formations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll reconciliation, banking, tax filings, and financial analysis. Supervise and develop a team of three (AP, AR, and Financial Analyst), fostering collaboration, accountability, and accuracy. Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP. Completes consolidated income statements, balance sheets and statements of cash flow reports for Director, Finance. Prepares monthly AP/AR status reports to maintain debt/line of credit compliance and presents to Director, Finance. Prepare monthly reports on equipment utilization, asset values, balance owing, service and maintenance costs. Prepare and maintain key dashboards to track and monitor financial and operational performance. Coordinate with external auditors and support the preparation of audit materials and year-end documentation. Provide operations and sales teams with accurate, actionable financial information to support pricing, margin management, and business decisions. Support the development of dashboards and reports that monitor key financial and operational metrics. Identify and implement process and system improvements that enhance accuracy, efficiency, and internal controls.

Join a touchpoint with the Director, Finance to share updates, review progress on key initiatives, and collaborate on upcoming projects or reporting improvements. Wrap up Friday by closing outstanding items, and planning ahead - staying two steps ahead so your team and the business are set up for success.

What You Bring:




CPA designation and post-secondary education in Business, Commerce, or Accounting. 4+ years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or financial reporting in a B2B or manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls. Experience with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central preferred) and reporting tools (Power BI, or similar). Demonstrated ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables. Regulated, pragmatic, and solutions-oriented - focused on business impact and continuous improvement while maintaining accuracy and compliance. Collaborative mindset, able to influence and work effectively with multiple teams and personalities across the organization. High attention to detail paired with the ability to maintain oversight of broader objectives.



Bonus Points:




Experience in distribution, manufacturing, or building materials industries. Prior experience implementing or optimizing ERP systems and financial dashboards.
