Accounting Manager

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to assist the Director of Accounting in managing day-to-day operations of the Accounting & Invoicing Departments. This role includes overseeing financial operations, preparing financial reports, and supervising a small team of 3-4 employees. The ideal candidate will be able to start as soon as possible.

REPORTS TO

: Director of Accounting

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:



- Oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the organization including: A/R, A/P, bank reconciliations, invoicing, and other transactions

-Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports Assist with the annual budget process, providing working papers and historical information

-Assist with year end audit process by ensuring information and systems are organized in accordance with Accountant expectations

-Ensure proper maintenance of the general ledger system. Identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend effective financial policies.

-Oversee accounts payable, receivable, and internal cheque requests, bank deposits, purchasing orders, payroll assistance, invoicing among other tasks.

-Perform month-end reconciliations and assist in month-end closing procedures.

-Auditing accounting files and perform general expenses management

-Assist with setup of new customer and vendor accounts and maintenance

-Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies

-Assist with recruitment and training of accounting staff.

-Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:



- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field.

- CPA designation. (Mandatory)

- Experience in freight forwarding, transportation, or logistics. (Mandatory)

-Familiarity with UFOS Transport and Warehouse Software. (Mandatory)

-Strong knowledge of GAAP and currency conversion.

-Proven track record in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and department performance analysis.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
