(Part-Time, 1-Year Term - Maternity Leave Coverage)

Location

: Dartmouth, NS - Mt. Uniacke, NS

Schedule

: 3 days per week (8 hours per day, 30-minute lunch)
On-site preferred, with flexibility depending on experience

About the Role

We're looking for a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Coordinator to join our team for a 1-year term to cover a maternity leave. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a small business setting, and is comfortable managing the full accounting cycle for two growing companies.

You'll play a key role in keeping our books accurate, improving processes, and supporting the controller in preparing monthly financial reports and year-end files.

Key Responsibilities

Record and maintain full-cycle accounting transactions for both companies, including:

Accounts payable and accounts receivable

Accrual journal entries

Payroll and payroll remittances

HST filings and remittances

Assist the controller in preparing monthly financial reports and supporting documents for year-end.

Communicate with customers and vendors in a professional, friendly manner.

Support process improvement initiatives across accounting and administrative workflows.

Contribute to accurate and efficient job costing -- a key aspect of both businesses.

Other ad-hoc projects as required.

Qualifications & Skills

Post-secondary education in accounting or bookkeeping is an asset.

Experience with QuickBooks Desktop is a strong asset.

Experience with Salesforce is an asset.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) is required.

Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask between two companies.

Positive attitude, good communication skills, and a team-oriented mindset.

Open to both experienced and junior accounting professionals with a willingness to learn.
