This co-op experience is an excellent way for you and TELUS to explore a long-term fit as a potential career step for new graduates. During this exciting 8-month program, you will bring your A-game to the field of Accounting and Finance by diving into a dynamic experience jam-packed with opportunities to develop your core competencies in one of our traditional accounting rotations. We provide on-the-job training, in-house courses, and other educational support that will prepare you for complex and challenging assignments. As part of a larger group of co-ops and candidates currently enrolled in our Pre-Approved CPA Program, you\'ll be able to take advantage of TELUS\'s mentorship program and community volunteering opportunities.

What you\'ll do

• Analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and enable effective business decisions
• Conduct activities such as reporting, budgeting, analytics, forecasting and business recommendations
• Prepare reports to guide decision making
• Perform routine control procedures and variance analysis
• Mine data to support strategic analysis and opportunity evaluation
• Collaborate with peers, managers, and our senior finance team. May have exposure to executives

Qualifications

What you bring

• Currently enrolled in Commerce or Business Administration studies specializing in Accounting or Finance, pursuing their CPA Accounting designation
• Possesses highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficient with MS Office and G-Suite, with strong knowledge of Excel
• Enjoys flexing their style/approach to adapt to people with diverse backgrounds and to new situations in a fast-paced, high-performance, sometimes ambiguous environment
• Uses their strong interpersonal and communication skills to influence, collaborate, and build strong relationships
• Innovative, curious lifelong learner who grasps the big picture
• Proven ability to: balance work/school/life commitments; produce quality work on time; proactively tackle roadblocks; and leverage others when needed

Great to haves

• Completed one or more previous co-op term(s) or summer internship(s)
