Square One World Media is a media ministry with a mission to encourage, equip, and empower passionate Christian storytellers to share the life-changing message of Jesus Christ through media. They currently produce media in a variety of formats and genres and in several languages including Russian, Ukrainian, Persian, Arabic, Spanish, Low German, and English.
Square One World Media is looking for a part time Accounting Clerk. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Accounting Clerk is responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing reports for management and recording financial transactions, including accounts receivable and accounts payable. The position is also responsible for maintaining HR records.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounting:
• Regular use of Quickbooks, spreadsheets and Donor Perfect software
• Posting financial transactions into Quickbooks
• Receiving, coding and recording expenses
• Paying bills and recording payments
• Posting all deposits into Quickbooks
• Monthly reconciliation of bank and credit card statements
• Monthly reconciliation of Donor Perfect with Quickbooks
• Check for accuracy in reports and postings
• Prepare month-end financial reports
• Prepare year-end audit files, including accruals, amortization and adjustments
• Interacting with management, vendors and customers as needed
Human Resources:
• Keep accurate employee records & files
• Setup new hires for payroll
• Communicate changes in payroll to payroll provider (CCMBC)
• Provide quarterly HR reports to Executive Director
• Submit semi-monthly hours for flex hourly employees
• Ensure employee timesheets are up-to-date and accurate
• Semi-monthly reconciliation of payroll & posting into Quickbooks
• Produce annual HR Letters for all employees
QUALIFICATIONS:
• An understanding of GAAP and accounting processes
• Minimum 3 years experience in accounting for non-profit/charities
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Excellent analytical, computational and mathematical abilities
• Proficiency in Quickbooks
• Exceptional attention to details and accuracy
• High level of integrity and trustworthiness
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience in HR/Payroll
