About the Role
Our client, a well-established organization based in Surrey, BC, is looking to add an Accounting Clerk to their finance team. This is a fully on-site position that offers a diverse mix of accounting and administrative responsibilities within a collaborative and fast-paced office environment.
You will play a key role in supporting daily accounting operations-primarily focused on accounts payable-while also contributing to general administrative and office support functions. Key Responsibilities

  • Process 20-40 accounts payable invoices weekly, ensuring accuracy, proper coding, and timely payment.
  • Review invoices for compliance with company policies and follow up on discrepancies or missing approvals.
  • Support payment processing and check runs as required.
  • Reconcile accounts regularly to ensure financial data accuracy.
  • Assist the Controller and Accounting Manager with day-to-day accounting tasks and month-end activities.
  • Maintain accurate records, filing systems, and documentation for audit readiness.
  • Provide administrative and office support, including coordination with internal teams and external vendors or clients.
  • Assist with bank deposits and other routine financial transactions.
  • Contribute to maintaining a positive office culture-helping with company events, socials, or other team initiatives as needed.
  • Provide general clerical support to ensure smooth day-to-day operations across the department.
Requirements:
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in an accounting or administrative support role within Canada.
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting (diploma, certificate, or degree required).
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and exposure to accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar).
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle are strong assets, as occasional travel between company locations may be required.
