Job Description


We are currently looking for an Accounting Clerk to join our exciting team of dynamic professionals in our growing organization.
This position will be responsible for the following contributions to our success:

  • Assist with the collection of receivables
  • Processes accounts receivable transactions such as entering and posting payments
  • Prepare weekly reports to monitor terms of payment
  • Responds to standard questions and concerns from business groups, clients and other internal and external parties, researches information, provides facts, and other assistance as required.
  • Performs various clerical duties, such as entering data, mailing/emailing invoices, sorting, copying and filing documents, and related clerical functions
  • Works with other departments to resolve discrepancies, address customer concerns
  • Daily preparation and deposit of cheques into local bank branch
  • Balancing intercompany transactions on a monthly basis
  • Accessing online payment information from banking websites
  • EFT’s and LMRS
  • Rent rolls
  • Updating Budget in accounting software
  • PAP update on bank website
  • Posting condominium fee charges
  • Maintaining current owners/tenants in Spectra
  • Process all payments in a timely manner and ensure they are complete and recorded accurately
  • Prepare and process monthly accrual entries for outstanding invoices and key vendor accounts by required deadlines
  • Maintains historical records by scanning, preparing, sorting and filing documents
  • Resolve purchase order, contract, invoice, expense or payment discrepancies
  • Follow up and process credit notes and stop-payments on a timely basis
  • Verify vendor accounts by reconciling periodic statements and related transactions, investigate variances and resolve outstanding issues
  • Participate in the ongoing development and documentation of departmental policies and procedure

Ideally, this position would be of interest to those with the following qualifications:
  • Minimum high school diploma
  • Experience working in an office environment
  • Must possess experience with computer software applications, not limited to but including Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and accounting software
  • Must have problem solving abilities
  • Possess excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload
  • Proficient data entry skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and to meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Bilingualism would also be a valuable asset
