As the firm continues to grow, we are seeking an Accounting Clerk to join their team of dedicated professionals in St. John\'s, NL. This is a great opportunity to take your career to the next level!

The Accounting Clerk brings a professional and enthusiastic attitude that will support the day-to-day financial and accounting operations of the organization. With a keen attention to detail and ability to dive deeper into the financial duties, you will have the opportunity to help the organization grow and enhance vendor and client relationships. With a solutions-driven and hands-on approach, the Accounting Clerk enjoys working collaboratively to elevate the level of quality and service for the organization.

Duties will Include:

  • Processing Accounts Receivable, pre-billing, billing, collection, and adjustments.
  • Processing Accounts Payable, dealing with suppliers, reconciling balances regularly.
  • Billing support for Real Estate Transactions.
  • Electronic payments of funds.
  • Recording expenses and billable disbursements.
  • Recording purchases.
  • Providing reports to senior management as requested.
  • Resolving accounting discrepancies.
  • Maintaining accounting and administrative records in paper and electronic form.
  • Opening and closing clients\' files on the accounting system.
  • Maintaining entries for the records for the clients\' property on PC Law.
  • Communicating with clients with respect to billing and other accounting issues.
  • Collecting outstanding payments from vendors/clients.
  • Building strong client relationships through positive interactions.
  • Communicating with the Senior Accountant and Senior Lawyer on work status/client issues that arise regarding accounting matters.
  • Liaising with the external accountants and accounting consultants on month-end and year-end processes and reporting.
  • Liaising with technical support to resolve accounting system related issues.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
  • Accounting diploma from a recognized post secondary institution or relevant level of education and experience.
  • Experience working in a professional environment performing accounting duties and functions an asset.
  • Collaborative team player with effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong time management and organization skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel and accounting software.
  • Continuous improvement mind-set.
