Job Description


A reputable and growing legal practice is seeking a skilled and detail-driven Accounting Clerk to support its accounting operations. This position plays a crucial role in managing the financial health of the firm through accurate transactional processing and compliance with legal accounting standards.
The ideal candidate has prior experience in a law firm setting and is comfortable working independently in a fast-paced office environment.
What You'll Do:
- Perform full-cycle accounting functions, including managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and trust/general reconciliations
- Prepare monthly and year-end financial statements, reports, and reconciliations
- Ensure all record-keeping complies with regulations
- Maintain and update financial data related to client transactions, write-offs, e-billings, and internal reporting.
- Liaise with banks, vendors, and legal professionals regarding investment instructions and account inquiries
- Support onboarding of staff in accounting systems and assist with GL account setup
What You Bring:
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience ideally in a legal environment
- Strong knowledge of legal accounting standards, particularly trust accounting and LSO compliance
- Proficiency in reconciliations and transactional processing (A/R, A/P, data entry)
