Job Description

Robert Half is looking to hire a skilled PART TIME Accounting Clerk for an expanding organization 3 days a week for approx 22.5 hours a week. In this position, you will be responsible for playing an essential role in the process of Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R), general data entry, and matching invoices to purchase orders and/or vouchers. This is a long-term contract / temporary position located in the Komoka, Ontario area.

Your responsibilities

- Compose statements and reports that require utilization of a wide collection of sources

- Work with Accounts Payable: A/P invoice matching & filing, vendor invoices and disbursement filing

- Code documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of expenditure codes and accounting codes

- Post financial information to journals and ledgers

- Support Accounts Receivable: apply cash receipt, help with collection of past due balance, and process daily invoices/credit

- Reconcile discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required

- General accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects
- Proven knowledge of Aging Accounts

- General familiarity with Credit Card Reconciliation

- Solid understanding of Accounts Payable (AP)

- Deep understanding of electronic funds transfer

- Well-founded grasp of account reconciliation

- Expertise in Accounts Receivable (AR)

- Practical knowledge of bank reconciliations

- Bank Deposit experience highly desired

- Foundational knowledge in EFT Payments

- Outstanding data entry skills

- Ability to handle multiple tasks to prioritize needs and expedite tasks upon request

- Prior knowledge in Spreadsheet and ERP system

- AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred
