Position Overview:
The Accounting Clerk at Summit Fleet plays a vital role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of a fast-paced and growing fleet management company. This position ensures accurate processing of financial transactions, supports month-end procedures, and contributes to the overall efficiency and compliance of the accounting department. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and thrives in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Handle all cash applications including deposits, checks, EFTs
Enter all bank related items into the correct general ledger daily
Reconcile general ledger accounts and schedules
Prepare deposit slips & night deposits
Balance reports and transaction slips
CAP accounts
Assist with audits
Other accounting duties as required
Qualifications:
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial recordkeeping
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with intermediate to advanced skills (e.g., pivot tables, formulas, data analysis)
Self-driven and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong organizational and time management abilities
Familiarity with CDK, Salesforce, and Certinia is considered an asset
Solid foundation in accounting principles and practices, with relevant work experience
Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively within a team
