Manager

Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a
Manager
to join our team. This role involves leading, overseeing and executing assurance and non-assurance engagements, as well as related tax filings. You will work closely with clients and staff, providing business and tax insights and maintaining high standards of service delivery. The ideal candidate is a motivated professional with strong technical knowledge, client service skills, attention to detail and a desire to contribute to a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and perform assurance (audit and review) and compilation engagements for a variety of small to medium-sized businesses and not-for-profit organizations, including corporate, personal, and trust tax returns, as well as T3010 filings for charities
Supervise and review the work of junior staff, providing mentorship and technical guidance
Identify and resolve accounting, audit, and tax issues as they arise during engagements
Communicate effectively and professionally with clients to gather information, present findings, and provide advisory services
Manage client engagements from planning through completion, ensuring high-quality service delivery, timely communication, and responsiveness to client needs
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting and tax regulations relevant to both for-profit and not-for-profit sectors
Qualifications:
CPA designation
Minimum 5 years of public accounting experience, with a focus on servicing small and medium sized private companies (and not-for-profit entities would be ideal)
Strong understanding of ASPE, ASNPO, and relevant auditing, review and compilation standards
Solid working knowledge of Canadian tax legislation and compliance requirements
Proficiency with CCH iFirm, Taxprep, CaseWare, and Microsoft Office
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines independently
