Accounting Associate

to join our team and support the day-to-day financial operations of our company.

RESPONSIBILITIES



1. Accounts Payable



Match purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices for accuracy. Enter invoices into the accounting system (Microsoft Dynamics GP) Prepare payments and ensure timely processing of vendor accounts. Communicate with suppliers to resolve discrepancies or inquiries.

2. Accounts Receivable



Prepare and send customer invoices. Apply customer payments and maintain accurate records. Follow up on overdue accounts and provide account statements as needed. Communicate with customers regarding billing questions or adjustments.

3. Bank and Account Reconciliation



Record daily deposits and receipts. Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements monthly. Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

4. Month-End Support



Prepare journal entries and assist with general ledger reconciliations. Generate reports and summaries for management. Assist with month-end and year-end closing tasks.

5. General Administrative Support



Maintain organized accounting files (digital and hard copy). Assist with inventory-related entries and reporting as needed. Provide backup support to other office and accounting staff when required

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE



Proficiency with Microsoft Excel Excellent attention to detail, organization, analytical thinking, and numerical skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently or collaboratively. College diploma or degree in Bookkeeping, Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred. Previous experience in accounting, payroll, bookkeeping, or finance roles is an asset.

WORKING CONDITIONS



Full-time position, 40 hours/week. Salary will be based on experience. 2 weeks' holidays plus access to health benefits after 3-month probation. Office environment with occasional collaboration with other departments and external stakeholders.
