We are looking for an Accounting Associate - Reconciliations to join our team. This is a fast-expanding company that offers room for growth and development with an emphasis on internal promotion. The Accounting Associate - Reconciliations is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of the bank and intercompany accounts and reconciliations. This includes matching bank entries from our 16 stores, reconciling to store accounts, tracking proper entry of deposits, reconciling bank, credit card and intercompany accounts, month end close entries and other reconciliations as required. The Accounting Assistant works directly with Finance, Sales, and Operations.
Accounting and Reporting:
Daily matching and reconciliation of bank, credit card and intercompany accounts
Month end journal entries, including branch allocations.
Completes account reconciliations.
Close and balance all location store bank and intercompany accounts monthly.
Completes month end reporting and account analysis.
Support Company audit.
Provides backup to Accountant on supplier invoice input, coding and payments
Provide support to the branch and warehouse locations.
Additional duties as required.
Qualifications You Bring:
Post secondary accounting Diploma/ Degree.
Accounting experience is an asset.
Ability to meet deadlines.
Able to multitask and prioritize workload in an environment of conflicting demands.
Strong analytical/ critical thinking skills.
Ability to trouble shoot and problem solve.
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Proficient in use of excel.
Takes ownership and accountability for assigned tasks.
Experience in a small office environment.
Is a team player.
Excellent at building relationships internally and externally.
Ability to multi-task.
