The Accounting Associate with HR responsibilities provides support in both finance and human resources operations. This role manages daily accounting functions, payroll processing, and HR administrative tasks to ensure smooth business operations. The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience handling confidential employee and financial information.
Key Responsibilities Accounting & Finance (60%)
Process
accounts payable and receivable
; reconcile statements and vendor accounts.
Prepare and post
journal entries
, maintain the
general ledger
, and assist with
month-end and year-end closings
.
Reconcile
bank accounts, credit cards
, and
balance sheet accounts
.
Assist in preparing
financial statements, budgets, and reports
.
Manage and maintain accounting records in compliance with company policies.
Support
external auditors
during reviews or year-end audits.
Payroll & HR Administration (40%)
Process
weekly or monthly payroll
accurately and on time, including statutory deductions (CPP, EI, taxes).
Maintain
employee records
, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with employment laws.
Administer
benefits programs
, including enrollment, updates, and employee inquiries.
Support
recruitment
efforts (posting jobs, screening resumes, coordinating interviews).
Prepare and issue
employment letters
, manage onboarding and offboarding documentation.
Track and report on
attendance, vacation, and leave balances
.
Assist in implementing and maintaining
HR policies, health and safety records
, and compliance documentation.
