Accounting Assistant/bookkeeper

Job Description

We are hiring a team member to join our accounting practice.

Bookkeeping or accounting background is recommended but it is not required if you are a smart individual and a quick learner; however, computer experience is required. You should be fluent and knowledgeable in Microsoft Excel and be able to navigate through Microsoft Windows.

Attention to detail, independent thinking, note-taking, professionalism, and letter writing skills are required. A very key component for this job is good English language writing abilities. We are not expecting you to have a degree in English literature; however, if English is not your first language please ensure that you have strong English writing skills.

Work environment is easy and somewhat flexible, but you must be responsible and self-sufficient.

We will provide training and as you gain experience you will be able to learn or expand your existing knowledge in the following:

-bookkeeping and the accounting cycle;
-T1 Return preparation;
-T2 Return preparation;
-HST Return;
-payroll and WSIB;
-business incorporation and registration
-business communications; and,
-enterprise level software and systems.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $17.60 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 30 per week
