Position Overview:
We're looking for an Accounting Assistant who's comfortable in QuickBooks, has an eye for detail and brings a fresh perspective to legacy processes. Our ideal candidate is someone who values both precision and progress and thrives in a collaborative, mission-driven workplace.
Whether you're reconciling accounts or helping us rethink old workflows, you'll play a key part in helping our team stay agile and accurate as we grow.
Key Responsibilities:
Support day-to-day accounting tasks including data entry, invoicing and reconciliations using QuickBooks Online.
Assist with processing payments, tracking expenses and generating reports.
Help modernize our accounting practices by offering input on workflows and improvements.
Maintain accurate and organized digital records.
Follow existing processes and contribute to refining them as needed. Collaborate with the operations team to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
Support seasonal accounting needs around photo day activities and vendor payments.
Requirements:
Experience working with QuickBooks Online (minimum 1 year).
A fresh outlook on traditional accounting practices.
Strong attention to detail -- you catch errors before they become problems.
Reliable, self-motivated and able to manage tasks independently.
A growth mindset -- you're open to learning, feedback and new ideas.
Good written communication skills for documenting processes and providing updates.
Comfortable working under tight deadlines and adjusting to seasonal needs.
This is an 18 month contract position (until March 30, 2027) in office at our main studio in Vancouver. Successful candidates must be legally eligible to work in Canada. Since we work with children and minors, candidates must also pass a criminal record check.
Benefits:
$21-$25 per hour, depending on experience
Employee discounts in our Mount Pleasant neighborhood.
How to Apply:
Submit your resume and a short cover letter telling us why you'd be a great fit for this role -- and how you see accounting differently.
