Our client is a well-established steel fabricator based in Surrey and they're looking for an Accounting Assistant to join their tight-knit community! This is a great opportunity for anyone with a background in accounting and looking for a part-time job.

Our client is a well-established steel fabricator based in Surrey. Founded over 50 years ago, they now have award-winning commercial and institutional projects all over the Lower Mainland.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The family-owned business has a tight-knit, loyal community of 60 employees, many of which have been there for years. Come join this group of amazing people and get to know them through regularly scheduled company-wide social events.

This position is part-time and fully in-office. It is a great opportunity for someone re-entering the workforce but isn't quite ready for a full-time role.

ABOUT THE POSITION

As the Accounting Assistant, you'll need to be highly organized and proactive. You'll report to the Controller and support the Finance department.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

• Weekly and bi-weekly payroll through ADP
• Process cheques and EFT payments
• Filing GST and PST
• Monthly bank reconciliations and Job Cost reports

THE REQUIREMENTS

• Accounting certificate or diploma
• At least 2 years of experience with accounting
• Accounts payable experience is preferable
• Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel
• Experience using QuickBooks is an asset
• Reliable access to own vehicle (office is NOT transit friendly)

COMPENSATION

• $40,000 to $48,000, depending on experience
• Company-wide social events
• Brand new building with lots of parking
