Position: Accounting Assistant Location: Markham, ON Incumbent will be responsible for assisting the department in its day to day operations by performing a variety of accounting and clerical duties. Responsibilities: Accounts receivable (AR) function: \xc2\xb7 Checks accuracy of invoices and other documents or records \xc2\xb7 Prepares banking slips for cheque deposits \xc2\xb7 Maintains accurate customer payment receipts and records \xc2\xb7 Issues credit notes and other related documents \xc2\xb7 Helps to prepare month-end and year-end AR schedules Accounts payable (AP) function: \xc2\xb7 Inputs data to prepare schedules \xc2\xb7 Processes and updates payments / expenses \xc2\xb7 Prepares payment vouchers \xc2\xb7 Verifies accuracy of vendors\xe2\x80\x99 statements and invoices \xc2\xb7 Helps to prepare month-end and year-end AP schedules Requirements:

• Diploma/Certificate in Accounting or related field
• 1-2 years of accounting experience
• Some working knowledge of common accounting software will be an asset.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Excellent communication skills (verbal + written); fluency in Chinese an asset
• Strong organizational, multi-task and time management skills; attention to detail
• Proactive and quick to learn.
• Works effectively in a multicultural and dynamic team environment.
