Job Overview


We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Assistant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will support various accounting functions, including accounts payable and receivable and general bookkeeping tasks. This role requires proficiency in accounting software and a strong understanding of financial principles to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.

Responsibilities



Process accounts payable and receivable transactions efficiently and accurately. Maintain accurate bookkeeping records and perform account reconciliations. Utilize accounting software like QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or Workday for data entry and financial reporting. Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly. Support budgeting processes by providing necessary financial data and reports. Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies. Support month-end and year-end closing procedures. Monitor property related expenses and income across multiple listings. Communicate with vendors, clients and internal teams to resolve billing or payment enquiries. Provide administrative support to the finance department as needed

Skills



Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, Workday, or PeopleSoft. Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable and general bookkeeping practices. Excellent data entry skills with a keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in financial records. Solid math skills for performing calculations related to budgeting and account analysis. Ability to perform account reconciliations effectively to maintain accurate financial statements. Familiarity with financial services terminology and practices is a plus. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and addressing any discrepancies or inquiries. Self motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications



Experience in Data entry and bill payments Knowledge of Canadian Accounting Standards Experience with property management software (i.e Innroads) Experience with Quickbooks and Sage
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 - 40 per week
