Join our dynamic team as an Accounting Assistant, where you will play a vital role in maintaining our financial integrity and supporting our accounting operations. You'll be responsible for a variety of tasks that ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with established standards. What you'll do
Review and post invoices after obtaining necessary approvals.
Maintain organized records of invoices, payments, and other accounting documents.
Ensure all documentation is properly backed up and filed in designated locations.
Update weekly production or activity reports with daily data.
Prepare summary reports and assist in weekly or monthly closings as required.
Accurately enter accounting and financial data into relevant systems QuickBooks.
Review and verify expense claims and supporting receipts.
Monitor office supply levels and place orders as needed.
Coordinate with management for purchase approvals and maintain stock records.
Maintain confidentiality and proper handling of all financial documents.
Answer phone calls and respond to general inquiries in a professional manner.
Greet and assist visitors, ensuring a positive and organized office environment.
Verify invoice accuracy and ensure all supporting documents are complete and properly filed.
Basic qualifications
Proficiency in financial concepts, double-entry bookkeeping, and technical accounting principles.
Strong math skills with the ability to perform calculations accurately.
Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in all tasks.
Bachelors degree or Diploma in Accounting
Familiarity with financial software such as Quickbooks.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office products including MS Excel, MS Word and Outlook
Preferred qualifications
Minimum one year of relevant experience
