: Accounting Analyst
Report To Manager, Accounting
Location CA-ON-Markham

The incumbent works within Honda Financial Services\' (HFS) Corporate Accounting department to support the financial reporting process and provides support for various operational accounting activities.

• Conduct financial analysis to support month-end close, financial reporting and decision-making within the organization
• Coordinate with American Honda Finance Corp (AHFC) Accounting team to support SEC reporting
• Perform various administrative tasks as required, including support for Accounts Payable and Customer Accounting
• Coordinate within the HCFI Accounting team and with operational departments to develop and deliver Canada-specific disclosures for SEC filings.
• Prepare various analysis and complete projects for Admin departments (e.g. Planning, Risk) as required
• Support processes, templates and automation for streamlined ongoing reporting.
• Prepare account reconciliations for various balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare analysis and reporting deliverables to parent company to support consolidation.
• Assist in preparation of IFRS stand-alone financial statements and US GAAP/IFRS accounting policy.

Qualifications

• Experience with Accounting or Finance strongly preferred
• Enrollment in a University undergraduate program in Accounting/Finance/Economics/Business required
• Intention to join CPA program evidenced by completion of CPA pre-requisites required
• Sound understanding of fundamental accounting principles
• Excellent analytic and presentation skills
• Proficiency with the MS Office Suite: Access, Excel, PowerPoint
• Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization
• Ability to perform in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
• Excellent problem solving skills and customer service orientation
• Financial reporting and analysis experience an asset
• General understanding of the automotive industry and business issues affecting Honda an asset
• Experience with process improvements and systems implementation project
