YOUR ROLE

This accounting analyst has the main priority of managing the Fixed Assets and is the point of contact between Real Estate and Store Planning with the Accounting Team. This entails regular correspondence with various stakeholders on the operational side of the business, as well as on the financial side. This accounting analyst maintains the Fixed Asset sub-ledger in SAP and provides monthly reports to senior management on the status of said assets.

Responsibilities

Strategic: 5%

• Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness and efficiency of the Fixed Asset module to identify opportunities for improvement
• Assists with process improvements, liaising with other departments, to ensure improvements meet various stakeholder needs

Operational: 90%

Fixed Assets Module

• Performs regular follow-ups with the business to update the status of CAPEX internal orders
• Performs settlements from P&L to Asset Under Construction
• Performs capitalization/write offs of Fixed Assets
• Runs monthly Fixed Asset Depreciation
• Prepares monthly reports on Fixed Assets for Monthly Financial Package, such as the continuity schedule, CAPEX reports, NBV reports

Store Planning & Real Estate

• Performs monthly reconciliation of store tenant allowances and deferred free rent. Coordinates with the store planning team on a monthly basis to update store information.
• Prepares notes to Financial Statements

Payroll and Year-end Audit

• Support in the reconciliation of payroll-related accounts and investigate any differences with the Payroll team
• Takes ownership of the year-end financial activities and external audits, including the preparation of working papers, schedules, analysis, and other required documentation related to fixed assets, store planning & real estate.

Leadership: 5%

• Leads coordination between Finance and IT on matters of Fixed Assets
• Displays initiative for process and system improvements
• Participates in annual personal objectives setting

DO YOU HAVE THE PROFILE WE\'RE LOOKING FOR?

• Degree in Accounting
• 3-4 years of professional experience
• 1 year + of experience in Fixed Assets
• Professional designation: CPA Designation (or in progress)
• SAP proficiency considered an asset
• Detail oriented and problem solver
• Strong communication skills (written and oral)
