Accounting Analyst
Job Description
Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, the Accounting Analyst will support the accuracy and integrity of financial statement data while working closely with team members and operations staff. The incumbent verifies, accrues and analyzes detailed accounting information used to prepare financial statements as well as provides data analysis relating to business and operational requirements; project work is identified and undertaken focusing on, but not limited to, improvements to systems and process efficiencies. Key Accountabilities:
- Monthly financial statement preparation
- Trend & variance analysis
- Intercompany reconciliation
- Prepare month end schedules such as; prepaids, fixed assets, loans and inventory
- Daily bank reconciliations
- Daily cash flow review and forecasting
- Expense tracking and departmental allocations
- HST filings
- Back-up other administrative functions as required.
- Problem-solver and analytical thinker
- Strong team-player
- Strong communicator
- Advanced Excel skills
- Focus on delivering timely and accurate information
- An IT aptitude - has the ability and desire to build reports and analysis tools
- Has attained or is working toward CPA certification
