The Role
You'll combine your accounting expertise with your interest in advocacy and resolution. This is a unique opportunity to
bridge accounting and tax controversy
, working alongside experienced Tax Lawyers on files that often go beyond the numbers.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Preparing or reviewing financial statements and tax returns
Analyzing CRA reassessments and audit reports
Preparing supporting schedules and documentation for audit or appeal files
Drafting submissions for CRA auditors, appeals officers, and relief officers
Assisting with voluntary disclosures and taxpayer relief requests
Working directly with clients to gather information and explain the process
Supporting litigation files with factual analysis and documentation
What We're Looking For
CPA designation (or near completion)
2+ years of Canadian tax and accounting experience
Strong understanding of personal and corporate tax fundamentals
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently
Interest or experience in CRA disputes, audits, or objections is a
strong asset
Bonus Points For:
Prior experience in tax controversy, audit defense, or objection processes
Comfort using CRA portals (Represent a Client, My Business Account)
Familiarity with TaxPrep, CaseWare, or similar
