About The Role
The Accountant - Private Enterprise is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, based in Port Moody, British Columbia, and reports to the Head of Bookkeeping and Director. You shall work primarily remotely. However, the position may be required to travel to, and perform duties at other locations as may be determined from time to time. In this role, you will support a diverse mix of privately owned businesses and individuals by providing high-quality accounting and tax services.
Work You Will Do
You'll handle bookkeeping, reconciliations, and payroll processing for small business clients, giving them confidence in their day-to-day financial management.
You'll support personal and corporate tax compliance, preparing T1s, T2s, GST/HST filings, PST filings and responding to CRA requests keeping clients on track and in good standing.
You'll prepare basic financial reports, such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports for review.
You'll collaborate with the Head of Bookkeeping and Director to support client relationships and gain mentorship, helping you build a strong foundation in public practice.
You'll liaise with suppliers, clients and subcontractors. Communicate with clients on a regular basis by following company procedures and tone.
Who You Are
You have at least 1-3 years of experience in public practice accounting.
You are proficient in QuickBooks Online, tax preparation software and Microsoft Office products.
You have a strong understanding of bookkeeping, reconciliations, and basic tax principles.
You are detail-oriented, well-organized, and thrive in a collaborative, client-focused environment.
You are enrolled, have obtained or pursuing the CPA program (preferred, but not required).
You have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
You are capable of working independently and effectively in a remote environment remotely.

Compensation Range: $60,000 to $85,000 (based on experience and education)
