The Opportunity



We are seeking a detail-oriented

Accountant

with experience in manufacturing to support our financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. This role plays a key part in accurate financial reporting, audit readiness, and team leadership. The position is based on-site in rural Oxford County.

What You'll Do



Supervise and support accounting clerk in AP, AR, entry Manage day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and accounting standards Liaise with staff, vendors and customers to help resolve AR/AP invoice disputes Maintain electronic payment records in accordance with company procedures Prepare weekly payment runs for senior accountant approval Reconcile bank statements weekly Oversee costing methodology, BOM validation, and variance analysis Analyze production costs, material usage, and labour efficiency to identify trends and areas for improvement Perform inventory valuations, and co-ordinate inventory cycle counts Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation Collaborate with management team in forecasting annual expenses and developing fiscal year projections Experience in fixed asset accounting, including depreciation calculations and reporting Assist during audits and provide required supporting documentation Provide technical guidance to finance staff and other team members Perform other duties as assigned

What We're Looking For



College diploma or bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred 3-5 years of accounting experience Team player that will develop and maintain strong working relationships A positive attitude and willingness to learn Sound computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Strong problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail Courteous telephone manners and excellent customer service skills Experience with ERP accounting software (M1) is an asset
