Key Responsibilities
As an Accountant at Arnon, you will play a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting strategic decision-making. Your responsibilities will include:
General Accounting & Reporting
Post journal entries and reconcile monthly bank statements
Prepare accurate monthly and quarterly financial reports for multiple entities and co-tenancies
Review payable and receivable aging reports and investigate outstanding items
Assist with various tax filings
Lease & Property Accounting
Review lease detail sheets and account for free rent, deferred costs, and other adjustments
Monitor the general ledger for capital expenditures and deferred costs
Investment Accounting
Review investment broker statements and update records to reflect monthly activity
Balance investment records with broker statements and year-end tax slips
Budgeting & Year-End
Prepare or review annual budgets
Prepare year-end financial statements and supporting working papers
Collaboration & Process Improvement
Work closely with property management and finance teams to ensure accurate reporting
Leverage accounting software and digital tools to streamline processes
Qualifications & Skills
A Diploma or Bachelor's degree in accounting
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel etc.)
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Must be legally authorized to work in Canada and available for on-site work at our office
Assets:
Experience working in Yardi
Experience working with AI tools or technologies
Experience working in an office environment with knowledge of accounting duties
