Christ The Redeemer (CTR) Catholic Schools is seeking applications for the position of Accountant. Reporting to Director of Corporate Services, our Accountant will ensure that financial records are maintained in compliance with policies and procedures on the corporate level and align with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). This position will rely on experience and judgment to achieve the objectives of the organization.







Daily tasks will require a variety of skillsets and responsibilities including but not limited to:



Forecasts revenue, performs cost analysis, and analyzes general ledger accounts.
Performs monthly bank reconciliations. Assists in creating and analyzing budgets. Reports financial information to management and participates in strategic planning. Assists in the preparation of financial reports and statements and performs duties related to the preparation of audits. Analyzes the organization's operational costs in order to assess accuracy and completeness. Develops and maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending financial policies and procedures. Assist with procurement and contract management, including purchase orders and invoice coding. Assist overseeing accounts payable and accounts receivable. Act as a liaison between facilities personnel, finance teams, procurement, suppliers and other affiliated departments. Work with the Director of Educational Spaces and Planning and teams to provide financial guidance and administrative support. Utilize financial systems (e.g., Atrieve, Asset Planner, MS Planner etc.) for transaction processing, procurement and project accounting tasks. Compile and submit detailed financial reports to government agencies, funding bodies, and auditors in accordance with regulatory and contractual requirements. Additional responsibilities as required, in alignment with evolving organizational priorities and to ensure the continued effectiveness of divisional operations.



Qualifications:



Education:

CPA designation and Bachelor of Commerce (BCom - Accounting) or completion of the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP) & successfully passing Common Final Examination (CFE)

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within the education or public sector.

Technical Skills:

Strong working knowledge of financial systems and accounting software, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel).

Professional Development:

Demonstrates commitment to maintaining professional and technical knowledge through workshops, continued education, and networking.

Attention to Detail:

Accuracy in preparing, analyzing, and reconciling financial statements and reports.

Communication Skills:

Ability to communicate financial information clearly and collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

Integrity and Compliance:

A current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector clearance is required.
