We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP, and will be proficient in various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, and Microsoft Excel. This role involves managing financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The Accountant will play a crucial role in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting to support the organization's financial health.
Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Conduct account reconciliations including balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation.
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
Perform tax preparation and ensure compliance with relevant tax laws.
Oversee payroll processing and related financial activities.
Analyze financial data to support decision-making processes.
Prepare detailed financial reports and interpret findings for management.
Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities to align with corporate finance strategies.
Conduct audits and ensure adherence to SOX compliance requirements.
Provide mentorship to junior accounting staff as needed.
Maintain knowledge of current accounting regulations including securities law, governmental accounting, and non-profit accounting.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
Proficiency in accounting software such as PeopleSoft, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms.
Strong knowledge of financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping, accrual accounting, and cash flow analysis.
Experience with financial report writing and interpretation.
Familiarity with private equity transactions is a plus.
Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
Strong communication skills for effective interaction with stakeholders at all levels.
