What you'll do
Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Conduct thorough account reconciliations, including balance sheet and general ledger accounts
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely payments and collections
Perform financial report writing and interpretation to provide actionable insights to management
Oversee tax compliance and reporting, ensuring adherence to relevant laws and regulations
Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, PeopleSoft, Sage, or Xero for efficient bookkeeping and financial management
Mentor junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages professional growth
Analyze cash flow and prepare forecasts to support budgeting and strategic planning
Basic qualifications
Strong understanding of double entry bookkeeping principles and financial concepts
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting
Preferred qualifications
Experience with non-profit accounting, governmental accounting, or corporate finance
Familiarity with auditing practices and regulatory reporting requirements
Knowledge of securities law, wills, trusts & estate law, or private equity
