Join our team in Sudbury, Ontario as an Accountant, where you will play a vital role in maintaining financial integrity and supporting our mission to provide exceptional equipment solutions. Reporting to the VP of Finance, your contributions will directly impact our operations and help us achieve our goals.

Responsibilities

Financial Controls and Planning

Examine and analyze journal and ledger entries, bank statements, inventories, expenditures, and other accounting and financial records, documents and systems to ensure financial recording accuracy and compliance with established legislation, accounting standards, procedures and internal controls Monitor internal financial controls and processes, preparing financial statements and reports Prepare detailed reports on analysis findings and key performance indicators, making recommendations to improve accounting and management practices Develop and maintain cost finding, reporting and internal control procedures Ensure appropriate cash and asset management including foreign exchange transactions
Personnel Management

Assign work and establish priorities for two accounting clerks Evaluate the work of the accounting clerks, providing advice and guidance Verify the accuracy of financial records (i.e. ledgers, accounts receivable and payable, and other reports) Review payroll and manage digitization of employee records Assistance with HR matters Month End Prepare capital entries related to additions, disposals and amortization Monitor useful life of equipment and provide insight/analysis on depreciation policies Monitor and prepare entries relating to Work In Progress for ongoing work orders and new projects Prepare bank reconciliations for both CAD and USD accounts and record entries relating to foreign exchange

Qualifications

Minimum Education: Degree/Diploma with a focus on accounting Preferred experience working as an accountant/bookkeeper Strong attention to detail Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) Ability to maintain confidentiality Excellent skills in numeracy Ability to manage staff and provide guidance and instruction

Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
