If you are selected for this position, you will be working for a leading Canadian sporting goods business that values putting their employees first. Some key aspects to this role include account reconciliations, fixed asset management, calculating sales commission as well as assisting with tax reporting, budget preparation, month end and year end analysis.

The ideal candidate would have 2 - 4 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role, have strong knowledge of excel (vlook ups and pivot tables) and have the ability to work independently while working as part of a team. The ability to multi-task and exposure to ERP systems, specifically NetSuite would be considered an asset.

Responsibilities
- Quarterly reconciliation of customer rebate programs
- Quarterly reconciliation of our brand/vendor royalty programs
- Distribute customer statements and collect on delinquent accounts
- Corporate credit card reconciliation and accrual
- Track and dispute customer fines and deductions
- Maintain fixed asset records and process monthly depreciation
- Process various journal entries when required
- Prepare month end accruals and account analysis
- Prepare monthly HST return
- Prepare monthly sales commission
- Assist with preparation of monthly bank package
- Assist with the preparation of our year end
- Assist with the preparation of fiscal budget
- Participate in cycle/yearend inventory counting when required
- Back up (and overflow when required) for our accounting clerk covering A/R and A/P functions
- Other tasks and projects as required

Qualifications
- 2+ year of general accounting and/or bookkeeping
- Ability to exercise good judgment and prioritize efficiently
- Proficient in MS Excel and Word
- Experience with ERP systems, specifically NetSuite would be considered an asset
- Must have great attention to detail and time management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
