The Treasury, Investments, Pension and Shareholder Services (TIPS) team is a part of The Finance, Accounting and Reporting (FAR) group and provides financial accounting services across the Co-operators Group of Companies with respect to the group's invested asset portfolio. This team also provides guidance and support to other finance areas within subsidiaries of the Co-operators group of companies. and is responsible for ensuring that accounting policies are followed, integrity of the statements. The responsibilities of this position include internal and external (including regulatory and statutory) reporting, General Ledger (GL) entries and reconciliations, documentation, analysis, and project work for group's invested asset portfolio. Flexibility regarding working hours is required during peak reporting periods.

How you will create impact:




Prepare journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations in relation to the group of companies invested asset portfolio in accordance with IFRS 9 accounting policies. Analyze invested assets financial data to ensure that results are accurate, variances are explainable, and IFRS 9 accounting policies are correctly applied. Prepare various statutory, monthly, quarterly, annual, and courtesy reporting related to the invested assets (including financial statement notes and regulatory schedules). Document work processes and assist with documentation of accounting policies and procedures. Identify and recommend improvements to existing investment systems, procedures, new processes, and reports to improve efficiency, analysis, and client service. Act as the Finance lead pertaining to the invested asset portfolio, representing Financial Reporting on various Co-operators project teams, as required. Develop, analyze, and document financial reporting requirements and matrixes as required.

Accounting/Business post secondary graduate. Minimum two years accounting or business-related experience. Enrolled in CPA Certification Program at a senior level. Intermediate to advanced Excel skills. Strong Analytical ability.
