Modular Precast Systems is a business in Bradford West Gwillimbury, ON, that manufactures and installs both structural and architectural precast. Our state-of-the-art facility produces product for Eastern Canada and the Northeast US market. Our goal is to provide the highest quality precast construction components for our clients.

JOB TITLE: Construction Accountant

JOB TYPE: Full-time, Permanent

SALARY: $60,000 /annum (subject to experience)

BENEFITS: Medical Benefits Plan (after 3 months), 10 days vacation

LOCATION: In-Person, Bradford West Gwillimbury (first 3 months training will be in Bolton, ON)

We are seeking an experienced and well-rounded Accountant to manage our company's Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll functions. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment. This role also involves coordinating with the production team to create and manage purchase orders and invoices, ensuring accurate financial tracking and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities



Accounts Payable:

Enter invoices into our accounting system, Jonas Software, accurately Manage the AP and Accounting e-mail effectively Coordinate with vendors regarding invoicing, payments, and discrepancies Communicate professionally with vendors and suppliers Process utility bills for payment Reconcile vendor statements regularly
Accounts Receivable:

Generate and distribute accurate customer invoices promptly Monitor accounts for outstanding balances and follow up on overdue payments Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies swiftly Process and apply incoming payments accurately Maintain billing records and update progress billing sheets
Payroll Administration:

Manage the full payroll cycle for all employees Update and maintain employee information in payroll systems Collect and input timesheets weekly Record taxable benefits, allowances, garnishments, deductions, and retroactive payments accurately Prepare payroll reports for management review Ensure compliance with current payroll legislation Handle monthly union remittances
General Administrative & Accounting Support:

Assist with general accounting duties Answer phones and provide excellent customer service Assist with monthly customer invoicing and collections Order office supplies, pick up mail Manage credit card payments and other administrative tasks as needed

Skills and Qualifications:



3+ years experience in accounting and finance, preferably in construction or related industries Experience with Jonas Software is a plus Knowledge of payroll legislation is required Strong proficiency with accounting software, MS Excel and Microsoft Suite Excellent communication and organizational skills Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively Reliable and detail-oriented team player
