THE POSITION

ATTA Elevators is seeking a qualified individual to join our team located at the Toronto office. This position will report directly to the Accounting Manager. The ideal candidate thrives in an environment where they can take ownership and be rewarded for results. This position in on-site.





This role offers the opportunity to work across multiple entities and contribute to a high-performing finance team in a fast-paced environment.

Duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following

:




Manage month-end close activities, including journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and in-depth review of financial statements for over 10 legal entities, along with related support files. Perform bank and credit card reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and ensure timely resolution. Oversee monthly intercompany reconciliations and eliminations to ensure accuracy and compliance. Handle lease accounting in accordance with IFRS 16, maintaining schedules and ensuring proper recognition. Manage prepaid expenses, including tracking, amortization, and classification. Analyze P&L variances and explain key drivers to stakeholders. Review and file monthly HST reports, assist with complex reconciliations. Perform bi-weekly AP runs including EFTs and wires. Assist with annual audit preparation, including managing audit inquiries. Serve as the primary contact for operational accounting inquiries across the organization. Manage the Float credit card program, ensuring proper usage and reconciliation. Ensure compliance with IFRS and internal controls and contribute to process improvement initiatives. Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team to achieve organizational goals. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and support business objectives. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications & Skill Requirements

Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting, preferably in construction, or manufacturing industries. Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and the Percentage of Completion method. Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks effectively. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams); experience with Microsoft D365 Business Central is an asset.
