About Us

Adventure Alley is a brand-new 6,700-square-foot indoor playscape in Toronto, opening in September 2025. We're a family-focused business with a "Play with Purpose" mission, donating a portion of our revenue to local charities. We're looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Accountant/Bookkeeper (CPA designation an asset, but not required) who's eager to grow with us. This role starts part-time with the intention of developing into a full-time position as our operations expand.

Responsibilities

Maintain accurate and up-to-date bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online. Prepare timely financial reports (monthly/quarterly P&L, balance sheets, cash flow). Track revenue streams (Stripe, POS, birthday parties, rentals, inventory) and expenses against budget. Manage accounts payable/receivable and reconciliations. Support inventory tracking and cost controls. Assist with payroll administration and compliance (with support from our external accountant). Manage Stripe backend settings, including coupon codes, discounts, and reporting of redemptions, in collaboration with the marketing team. Track and reconcile charity components (e.g., parent entry donations, % of birthday parties, % of rentals) to ensure accurate reporting and remittance to partner organizations. Help prepare for year-end, audits, and tax filings. Maintain organized digital records for compliance and reporting (CSBFL, RBC, CRA, etc.). Provide financial insights to owners and management in clear, easy-to-understand reports.
Qualifications

CPA designation or working toward it preferred; strong bookkeeping/accounting background required. 3+ years of accounting/bookkeeping experience (small business, hospitality, or retail an asset). Strong QuickBooks Online skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets. Experience in preparing financial reports quickly and accurately. Knowledge of Stripe reporting and coupon/discount setup is an asset. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently from home, with 1-2 office visits per month. High level of discretion when handling sensitive financial information.
Compensation

Part-time (20-25 hrs/week to start):

$30-$35/hr, depending on experience.
