Position Overview
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented
Accountant and Financial Analyst
to oversee financial management across our group of companies. This role plays a key part in strengthening financial systems, improving processes, and supporting strategic decision-making.
Working closely with ownership and external advisors, you will ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information, drive operational efficiency, and contribute to the company's growth.
The ideal candidate is proactive, independent, and brings a strong service attitude, ensuring that internal stakeholders receive timely, accurate, and helpful financial support.
Strong Excel skills, solid analytical experience, and hands-on ERP expertise are essential.

Key Responsibilities
Monitor and manage cash flow across entities, including investment activities
Prepare, review, and reconcile accounts and bank statements to ensure accuracy and reliability of financial data
Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for ownership, banks, and external accountants
Advise team members on accounting entries and corrections to ensure completeness and accuracy of records
Oversee intercompany transactions and manage financial consolidations across multiple entities
Identify and implement process improvements, automation, and system enhancements to improve efficiency
File GST, PST, EHT, and prepare year-end packages for external accountants
Support external audits by preparing required documentation and addressing auditor inquiries
Develop and maintain financial dashboards and analytical reports to support operational and strategic decisions
Lead and participate in ad hoc projects, conducting financial analysis and recommendations as required
Support team operations by stepping in as backup for AP, AR, and Payroll functions when needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial reporting in Canada
Strong understanding of operational accounting and intercompany transactions
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP/accounting systems
Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting/analytics tools is an asset
Proven ability to learn and adapt quickly to new systems and tools
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
Experience in transportation, logistics, or transload industries is an asset

Competitive salary range: $80,000 ~ $100,000 per year
