Sobeys is full of exciting opportunities and we are always looking for bright new talent to join our team! We currently have a 21- month contract full-time opportunity for an Accountant to join our Finance team. This role can be based out of one our main offices including: Stellarton, NS; Mississauga, ON; Calgary, AB.

Here\'s where you\'ll be focusing:

• Accurately account for transactions in the general ledger accounts
• Prepare and review working papers that support account balances, and investigation of any issues
• Prepare and post journal entries
• Complete period-end close processes, controls, and procedures
• Ensure compliance with CEO/CFO Certification requirements
• Participate in the internal and external audit of assigned company codes and account
• Prepare various analytical and ad-hoc reports

What you have to offer:

• University Degree and Accounting Designation CPA (or in the process of obtaining) preferred
• A minimum of 2 years \'experience in accounting or related field
• Knowledge of SAP preferred
• Solid analytical and problem solving skills
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills (particularly Excel)
