Position: Account Manager - Investor Communications and Advisory Services
Location: Toronto/hybrid
Job Type: Permanent
We are looking to hire an Account Manager with Investor Communications and Advisory Services experience for a great Corporate Communications Firm located in Toronto. The Account Manager is responsible for managing and executing various aspects of shareholder communication programs including, shareholder identification, proxy solicitation, information agent services, and corporate governance mandates to achieve maximum positive results based on client objectives.
Main Duties:
- Successfully manage multiple accounts assigned
- Proactively provide strategies to assist in executing a successful result related to hostile and friendly acquisitions, proxy contests and corporate governance issues, etc.
- Take the lead to organize the working group (issuer / legal counsel / pr firm / ibankers, etc.) and implement action items and deadlines, all in an effort to support the overall success of the campaign
- Review and provide comments to the working group on documents pertaining to the campaign
- Assist with writing shareholder letters and press releases as required
- Ensure shareholder materials are thoroughly reviewed to ensure that any special nuances of programs are noted and understood
- Provide accurate and detailed reporting to the client
- Display dedication and commitment to meeting the objective at hand
- Keep up to date with current market practices and trends in the industry
- Understand proxy guidelines of various proxy advisory firms (ISS, Glass Lewis, etc.)
- Be informed of industry rules and regulations
- Performed other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- 3+ years of relevant (i.e. proxy, investor, shareholder, corporate communications) experience in a similar role within the financial/investment services industry
- Related experience in the Capital Markets industry
- Ability to multitask and learn quickly in an ever-changing and fast-paced environment
- Excellent relationship building and client and account management experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Superior problem solving skills
- Attention to detail
