Position overview
The Account Manager, Education Sales has a key role responsible for driving business growth, fostering strong relationships with Merrithew Training Centres and managing the operational execution of Merrithew education programs. This position combines strategic sales planning, customer service, and operational coordination to ensure the successful delivery of education services across multiple territories. The ideal candidate will excel in identifying new business opportunities, managing key client relationships, and optimizing resources for smooth execution of hosting and training schedules. This position requires a high level of communication, organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives and enhance the customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Sales Growth
Identify and capitalize on business growth opportunities by increasing education training frequency, diversifying programs, and driving equipment sales through educational initiatives.
Meet annual sales targets by converting education sales leads, including tradeshow contacts, referrals, and training records, into new host centres.
Develop and execute territorial-based sales growth strategies, collaborating with commercial sales teams, resellers, and distributors to boost sales in designated regions.
Work closely with the Sales Director or Senior Sales Managers and Education Programming Dept. to optimize instructor trainer resources across regions and maintain strong relationships for successful hosting.
Manage recurring sales in Merrithew Training Centres by increasing training (course, workshop and exam...etc.) frequency and ensuring smooth coordination of IT resources across multiple territories.
Conduct market research to identify potential new leads, new training centres, and areas for expansion, converting them into long-term partnerships.
Customer Service & Host Centre Management
Act as the primary consultant and support Merrithew Training Centres, guiding them through processes and policies to ensure success in Merrithew education offerings.
Build and maintain strong partnerships with new and existing Merrithew Training Centres, correcting non-compliance issues and supporting their growth through tailored educational solutions.
Collaborate with Marketing and Commercial teams to support marketing initiatives and promote Merrithew education within the region, aligning with business growth plans.
Support the development of departmental processes to improve cross-functional efficiency, ensuring consistent delivery of service and smooth hosting operations.
Assist with the translation of education-related content as required to support international or non-English speaking clients.
Operational Support & IT Coordination
Serve as the primary point of contact for Merrithew Training Centres, ensuring seamless communication on account needs, updates, and requests.
Manage IT assignments and resources, ensuring efficient allocation and meeting client expectations within project timelines.
Plan and adjust course schedules, ensuring they align with client requirements and internal goals.
Manage general inquiries, client communications, and act as the go-to person for education, program offerings, and instructor paths.
Organize travel logistics for IT personnel, coordinating trips in alignment with project timelines and resource needs.
Prepare IT briefs and internal meeting notes, ensuring clear communication of updates and requirements during discussions.
Maintain internal trackers for project data, ensuring accurate reporting and cross-referencing to support business planning and decision-making.
Administrative & Financial Management
Oversee the preparation, review, and execution of IT and hosting agreements, ensuring compliance with client requirements and organizational standards.
Process orders related to hosting, exams, and educational materials, ensuring accuracy and timely execution.
Coordinate the generation of student lists and completion letters, ensuring accurate documentation and timely delivery.
Manage the exam process, overseeing execution and ensuring compliance with client requirements.
Ensure payments related to client accounts are applied accurately and promptly, maintaining organized financial records.
Conduct market research on industry trends and competitor activities to provide insights that enhance business strategy.
Skills and Qualifications

5+ years of sales and account management experience selling business solutions.
Secondary Language is a strong asset (Mandarin, Japanese, Vietnamese, Thai ,Bahasa Indonesia)
Bachelor's degree with business-related studies.
Previous experience as an account manager in an international setting, esp. experience with Asia Pacific is an asset.
Experience interacting with customers in a sales environment that involves email selling, social media prospecting, trade show interaction, demand creation and/or account management
Highly result-driven, self-motivated personality that shows perseverance and can overcome objections to achieve sales targets in a results-oriented environment
Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills, confident, well-spoken, outgoing, proactive, a natural communicator and relationship builder
Active listener with a consultative approach to understanding client needs
Supreme ability to organize yourself, your tasks, and manage your time to be highly productive
Ability to work at flexible hours to deliver timely effective customer experience regionally and internationally.

Exceptional skills with data analysis using excel and CRM
Up to 10% travel time to designated territory may be required
